The following is the latest information from the City of Pearland:
- Waste Management will be operating through the Labor Day holiday normally scheduled on Monday, Sept. 3. Also Waste Management will be continuing to service Thursday routes that it did not complete. It will start Friday routes after it completes its remaining Thursday routes.
- For residents interested in applying for FEMA assistance, check out this website for more information. Be prepared to provide your personal information if you are applying for assistance. If you wish to start the application process go to the FEMA Disaster Assistance site.
- The emergency conditions curfew for the City of Pearland has been lifted. The juvenile curfew addressed by city ordinance is still in effect.
- The requirement for permits for home repairs remains in effect, but permit fees will be waived. If your home has flooded, turn off your natural gas. The gas meter should be turned off if water has damaged any natural gas appliance. If your home has flooded, turn off electric circuit breakers until an electrician can evaluate your system. To protect residents, all contractors must register with the City in order to ensure that they are properly licensed and bonded.
- The City does not require permits for the following home repairs caused by damage from Hurricane Harvey. Other major repairs will require a permit.
- Floor covering replacement (carpet, tile, vinyl, etc.)
- Sheetrock repair
- Asphalt shingle repair (not to include full roof-covering replacement or structural member replacements)
- Removing and replacing insulation “in-kind”
- Fence repair
