Important message to homeowners:
Maria Southall-Shaw, a former employee with FirstService Residential and manager at Shadow Creek Ranch, was recently charged by the U.S. Attorney’s Office Southern District of Texas with a single count of wire fraud. The FirstService Residential management team at Shadow Creek Ranch uncovered improper payments of questionable invoices to vendors on behalf of Shadow Creek Ranch. FirstService Residential retained the services of a third-party company to conduct a forensic audit of Shadow Creek Ranch’s accounting records. Based on the findings of this audit, FirstService Residential reported the results of the third-party investigation to law enforcement authorities and reimbursed Shadow Creek Ranch for the amount of the questionable transactions that had been discovered. The Federal Bureau of Investigations is currently conducting an ongoing, confidential investigation into Ms. Southall-Shaw’s alleged misconduct. Shadow Creek Ranch and FirstService Residential have been involved with and are fully cooperating with the FBI in connection with this investigation.
